Metacem is a grade name of high reactive
allumino silicates manufactured by calcinining pure and
ultra fine hydrous kaolins at specific temperatures.
When used in a cement based
concrete formulations, Metacem chemically combines with calcium
hydroxide to form calcium silicate and calcium alumina hydrates.
Unlike other natural pozzolans, Metacem is water processed
to remove unreactive impurities thus making it fully reactive.
IS 456: 2000 - Indian bureau of
standards, recommends the use of Metakaolin as cement admixtures
MetaCem is
a thermally structured, ultra fine pozzolan which replace
industrial by-products such as Silicafume/Microsilica. Commercial
use of Metakaolin has already begun in several countries worldwide.
